Our Corporate group in Amsterdam includes integrated capabilities in private equity, M&A, equity capital markets, notarial, anti-trust, real estate and projects and has approximately 55 lawyers and is consistently ranked as one of the leading practices in The Netherlands.


Our Corporate lawyers have a global outlook, coupled with experience of a variety of work in multiple jurisdictions, producing the quality of expertise required for major, complex cross border work.

What you will be responsible for


We are looking for a corporate lawyer with relevant experience to work as a Professional Support Lawyer (PSL).


The mission of the PSL is to ensure our lawyers and clients have up to date knowledge of case law, market leading templates, and that our lawyers are able to deal with any changes in these areas in a quick, practical and efficient way.


You will be working closely with our Corporate Senior advisor who is responsible for the training, know how and academic support of the Corporate group. Our Corporate Senior advisor has an extensive track record in lecturing corporate law and doing academic research and has a large network in the academic world.


Key responsibilities


Drafting and maintaining the Corporate department's suite of templates and guidance notes and working closely with colleagues in charge of template automation, providing instructions on necessary amendments to be made;

Joining the office's Template Working Group and taking part in different workstreams including making our template collection state of the art;
Working closely with the K&I Manager and the PSL of our Financial Markets Group to collect knowhow and disseminate knowledge throughout the group in line with our knowledge sharing culture;

Liaising and co-ordinating with PSLs in other practice areas and within the global Corporate practice in order to share knowledge and help deliver consistent advice to clients;

  • Together with the Corporate Senior Advisor co-ordinating, preparing and presenting lectures for lawyers and in some cases clients, including legislation overviews reflecting changes in national and international law;
  • Reporting to the Corporate practice area leader and/or Corporate Senior Advisor;
  • Participation in wider firm thought leadership initiatives involving the corporate group and other PSLs and helping develop legal areas of strategic importance for the office and European region;
  • Together with the Corporate Senior Advisor researching and writing memo's on legal issues and dealing with enquiries related to your legal expertise;
  • Together with the Corporate Senior Advisor, ensuring once an important court case or upcoming legislation is published, that it is analysed and the possible impact on templates is identified, as well as the necessity for client briefings or other thought leadership initiatives; and
  • Assisting juniors on transactions and assisting in the education of junior lawyers in connection with the Corporate career development plan and the Corporate induction courses.

Your career experience so far


The successful candidate will be a mid to senior qualified lawyer with solid experience in all aspects of the practice's work and be able to build an excellent profile within the group both in terms of legal acumen and commercial application.  


You will have first-class legal skills coupled with a commercial approach. A strong legal background is essential along with excellent drafting and communication skills.

You will be highly organised, have good attention to detail and be committed to providing a first class service to the Firm. 

Furthermore, you are;

Dutch law qualified;
Fluent in English and Dutch;
Experienced in analysing complex matters;
Experienced in researching and applying complex areas of law and the ability to explain issues clearly and to guide others.

Our PSLs are required to interact with partners and other lawyers both internally and externally and need to demonstrate acumen, insight, integrity and efficiency, as well as being confident self-starters.

Ideally the role would be fulfilled on a full-time basis, however part-time hours (3 days per week – 0.6 FTE minimum) will also be considered.  The role comes with a competitive salary and benefits package.
