DESCRIPTION: 

 

The primary objective of the Professional Development Assistant is to support the Professional Development Manager, Assignments with associate staffing, planning and resource management.  The role will interact with the Transactional (Banking & Finance, Corporate and Capital Markets) and Litigation practices. This position will work closely with the Manager to optimize the allocation of work and ensure efficient and appropriate staffing of client matters and support associate development.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·    Assist with the staffing of time sensitive assignments

·    Monitor associate availability

·    Staff matters according to associate interests and availability and          partner/senior associate requests

·    Familiarize yourself with attorney practice areas and keep abreast of changes

·    Ensure that the staffing database (Retain) is updated accordingly

·    Review reports generated from the staffing database

·    Serve as liaison with the Global Shared Service Center ("GSSC")

·    Track associate billable and non-billable hours

·    Maintain the Holiday/Out of Office tracker

·    Document associate performance feedback as directed

·    Work on various assignments/projects/initiatives as needed

 

 

REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:

 

·    1-2 years administrative support experience in a professional services organization

·    Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines

·    Strategic thinker and problem solver

·    Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing environment

·    Excellent oral and written communication skills

·    Make effective decisions using sound judgment

·    Proven ability to work collaboratively and maintain strong internal working relationships

·    Excellent organizational and client service skills

·    Proficiency in MS Office (highly proficient in Excel)

·    Ability to work overtime as assigned

·    Must be independently legally authorized to work in the United States
