NY/DC Forensic Technology Manager

Clifford Chance US LLP has an opening for an experienced Forensic Technology Manager to implement, operate and support the expansion of its US in-house forensic technology and e-discovery service.  The job will involve working alongside the existing forensic team, partners and other attorneys. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Roll-out implementation and continuing support of the Firm's externally managed Relativity instance in the US.
  • Managing client relationships and collection projects from inception to completion.
  • Managing collected evidence documentation and chain-of-custody.
  • Advising our legal teams on technical concepts in an easy to understand manner and present findings through concise, forensically accurate reports and data visualisation
  • Coordinating with Client IT teams and other vendors.
  • Contributing to internal procedures and methodologies including evidence management and automation of processes.
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge and understanding of relevant technological development in the forensic technology and eDiscovery area.
  • Project scoping, workflow conception, execution of forensically sound collections through proposed workflows, data processing, relevant data identification and project management on eDiscovery matters.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Four year bachelors' degree in a Technology related discipline such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Digital Forensics, or Math.  Masters' degree a plus.
  • Three or more years of experience working within digital forensics and eDiscovery practice, preferably at a major accounting or consulting firm.
  • Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA), EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), Nuix or equivalent eDiscovery certifications.
  • Data processing experience using Nuix, Relativity or other equivalent tools, and experience in using Relativity as an administrator.
  • Scripting language experience, particularly SQL, Python, VBA or C#.
  • End to end eDiscovery process experience, including the skills to consult with clients on each stage of the EDRM life-cycle.
  • Strong logical reasoning, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Technically minded approach, with hands on experience with forensic analysis of laptops, desktops, mobiles etc, and various operating systems.
