The work covered by our Antitrust Group includes advice on a broad range of antitrust and sector specific  regulatory matters , often with  a cross-border dimension. Our Antitrust and Regulatory lawyers work on behalf of our clients on market/sector investigations, enforcement matters and mergers requiring clearance from competition and other regulatory authorities. 
 
We advise  on market leading mandates across the full range of contentious and non-contentious domestic and cross border antitrust matters.

Key Responsibilities
 
As an Antitrust Lawyer, you will be working across a wide range of sectors to include consumer goods and retail, technology, financial services, energy and infrastructure, transporttelecommunications and media.
 
You will also advise on:
  • Merger control: carrying out multi-jurisdictional merger control analysis and preparing merger filings to the relevant authorities, including at the UK and European level
  • Market investigations / sector enquiries 
  • Cartel and abuse of dominance investigations 
  • Cooperation, distribution and licensing arrangements: 
  • Antitrust litigation: appeals from decisions by competition authorities and significant follow on and stand-alone damages actions 
  • State aid 
  • Public procurement. 
Client Focus
 
In order to provide our outstanding client service, we need to understand, anticipate and fulfil the needs and expectations of each of our clients. This is what we call "Client Focus" and to help us deliver this key part of our business strategy we look to recruit lawyers who are not only technically excellent but are fully "Client Focused". 
 
We therefore are looking for a lawyer who is:
  • recognised as producing innovative and commercial solutions for their clients 
  • pro-active in identifying issues and able to work with clients in solving them 
  • able to engender confidence in clients and collaborate with them 
  • able to understand how to deliver a transaction to clients that meets their objective in a time critical manner 
  • able to demonstrate excellent managerial skills for client relationships and the ability to deepen and enhance existing relationships 
  • able to understand what is required to supervise and manage a project team.

You must be able to demonstrate proven experience across all areas of competition law, sector specific regulation and  public policy gained at a City Firm, or at an overseas common law practice with a similar highly regarded profile. 

You must have excellent document drafting skills and should demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills along with a high level of commercial awareness.
