Leading international law firm Clifford Chance is seeking a highly motivated Knowledge Manager for its Corporate M&A, Private Equity and Real Estate practice in Luxembourg. With around 90 lawyers and 8 Partners, the Luxembourg Office of Clifford Chance has been a respected player in the Luxembourg legal services market and has been awarded the "Luxembourg Law firm of the year" and the "European Law Firm of the Year" awards by Chambers & Partners 2018.


We are looking for a senior lawyer with significant experience in Corporate-M&A transactions in Luxembourg who can proactively bring value-added to the fee-earners of the department by spreading knowledge and experience. Working alongside the transactional lawyers, the role will be expected to deliver on a variety of regular support activities, notably template libraries, document automation, regulatory watch, know-how management and training. 


The successful applicant will report to the 2 Partners heading the Corporate – M&A practice. He/she will also liaise with the different people of the network in charge of Knowledge Management, to maximise the use of Clifford Chance global resources and share best practices. 


Template library and automation

  • Maintain and enhance the Corporate templates library in English, French and German
  • Identify areas of development/ missing documents and create new templates
  • Contribute to Clifford Chance best delivery initiative ensuring that the various template automation project move forward at a quick pace
  • Update of knowledge platforms, monitoring databases, gathering and indexing information and documents

Know-how dissemination

  • Coordinate and actively contribute to the drafting of publications
  • Prepare communications to clients to disseminate Clifford Chance expertise and knowledge

Training – Learning and development

  • Take in charge junior lawyer legal education program, act as a mentor
  • Gather and disseminate know-how of the department
  • Organize regular internal meetings and conferences to share practices and knowledge

Day-to-day support to lawyers

  • At the request of lawyers, perform legal researches, data extractions, template provision to save them time and help them gain in efficiency
  • Review client documents

Local and global initiatives – Project management relating to KM initiatives

  • Ensure coordination and alignment of legal knowledge management initiatives within the Luxembourg office
  • Participate actively to any local and global initiative in terms of Knowledge Management 


Education and Experience

  • An excellent academic background in law;
  • At least 7 years of experience as a qualified lawyer in a Corporate practice;
  • Strong drafting skills;
  • An interest in and high-level experience of the core company law areas, which underpin transactional and advisory work - such as directors' duties, corporate governance, meetings, rights of shareholders, changes in share capital, company constitutional issues and company law reform;
  • Client communication experience.

Interpersonal skills

  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently and to drive projects and initiatives till completion;
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Good analytical and research skills;
  • Enthusiastic, positive and proactive attitude with pragmatic and hands-on approach;
  • Demonstrated service orientation;
  • Project management, organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines;
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail and meticulous follow-through;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with lawyers of all levels of seniority.

Language and IT skills

  • Fluency in French and English;
  • German and/or Luxembourgish would be considered as an asset;
  • Strong command of Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Experience in using knowledge management tools and software will be considered a plus.
