Leading international law firm Clifford Chance is seeking a highly motivated Knowledge Lawyer for its Investment Funds practice in Luxembourg. With around 90 lawyers and 9 Partners, the Luxembourg Office of Clifford Chance is a respected player in the Luxembourg legal services market and has been awarded the "Luxembourg Law firm of the year" and the "European Law Firm of the Year" awards by Chambers & Partners in 2018.


We are looking for a lawyer with some experience in funds structuring who can proactively bring value-add to the fee-earners of the practice/group by gathering and spreading knowledge and know-how. Working alongside the transactional lawyers, the role will be expected to deliver on a variety of regular support activities, notably template libraries, document automation, regulatory watch, know-how management and training.


The successful applicant will report to the Counsel in charge of knowledge management and the 3 Partners of the Investment Funds group. He/she will also liaise with the different people within the network in charge of Knowledge Management, to maximise the use of Clifford Chance global resources and share best practices.



Template library and automation

  • Maintain and enhance the templates library (e.g., prospectuses, articles of incorporation, standard clauses/wordings);
  • Identify areas of development/ missing documents and organise the creation of new templates;
  • Contribute to Clifford Chance Best Delivery initiative ensuring that the various template automation projects move forward at a quick pace.

Know-how dissemination

  • Contribute to the drafting of publications;
  • Prepare communications to clients to disseminate Clifford Chance expertise and knowledge;
  • Maintain the Investment Funds group intranet page and gather memoranda, precedents, templates, etc.

Training – Learning and development

  • Support group's legal education program;
  • Organize regular internal meetings and conferences to share practices and knowledge.

Deal announcements and lists of credentials

  • Coordinate internal and external deal announcements;
  • Produce lists of credentials for pitches and submission to legal directories.

Local and global initiatives – Project management relating to Knowledge Management initiatives

  • Assist in the coordination and alignment of legal knowledge management initiatives within the Luxembourg office and across the firm;
  • Participate actively to any local and global initiative in terms of Knowledge Management.


Education and Experience

  • An excellent academic background in law;
  • At least 3 years of experience as a lawyer in a funds practice or a funds service provider;
  • A strong set of project management skills;
  • Client communication experience.

Interpersonal skills

  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently and to drive projects and initiatives till completion;
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Enthusiastic, positive and proactive attitude with pragmatic and hands-on approach;
  • Demonstrated service orientation;
  • Project management, organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines;
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail and meticulous follow-through;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with lawyers of all levels of seniority.

Language and IT skills

  • Fluency in English;
  • German and/or French and/or Luxembourgish would be considered as an asset;
  • Strong command of Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Experience in using knowledge management tools and software will be considered as plus.
