The Litigation & Dispute Resolution department focuses on a wide range of matters, such as pre-litigation, litigation, employment law, data protection, contract law and real estate.

In the context of the continuous development of our activities, we are currently recruiting a:

Experienced Lawyer with a specialisation in Data Protection/Data Privacy (m/f) 

As a member of our Litigation department, you will be able to advise clients and work on various legal matters, especially in the area of data protection. 

 Some of your various responsibilities will include:

  • Advise on data protection compliance (data mapping; review / drafting of contractual documentation; review / drafting of clients' processes, policies and procedures ;assistance in data breach notification ; data retention ; outsourcing etc.). 
  • Collaborate with other departments and offices in cross-border files / cross-department files (e.g., M&A), data protection being part of general advice on global issues and regulations.
  • Advise and assist clients in the context of judicial proceedings involving disclosure of personal data.
  • Working with and advising business and compliance clients directly, as well as providing guidance and practical solutions.
  • Drafting of contracts, client memoranda and client correspondence.
  • Drafting of research notes for the benefit of the department. 
  • Presentation of new developments in laws, regulations, case law and legal doctrine at fortnightly department meetings.

What we are looking for: 
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience including 2 in the Data Protection and Data Privacy areas and an in-depth knowledge of EU privacy laws, ideally gained within a Luxembourg law firm.
  • Previous experience working with GDPR and privacy matters, providing legal advice regarding privacy, privacy impact assessments, data-sharing, and related issues.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of legal matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete several simultaneous projects on a deadline.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism and collegiality.
  • Good knowledge of civil, commercial law and administrative law.
  • Someone who has successfully passed an academic degree in law. A specialised Master's degree (LL.M) or a complementary degree focusing on data privacy / IP / IT would be an asset.
  • Someone ideally admitted to the 'Liste I' or to the 'Liste IV'.
  • Fluency in French and English. Any additional language skills (particularly in German and/or Luxembourgish) would be considered as an asset.
  • Commitment, team spirit and communication skills are required qualities to progress in a stimulating environment.
