The Human Resources team provides services in all the key areas of the human resources cycle, including recruitment and on-boarding of new hires; HR policies, processes and operations; employee relations; HR systems; compensation and benefits; training; career development; staff mobility and performance management.

The successful candidate for this position will undertake a period of formative work experience as a "becario" in  the Human Resources Department in Madrid, working closely with, and providing general support to, the Human Resources staff that form part of the team. The job has a broad remit and will provide  the right candidate with an introduction to a variety of areas in the field of Human Resources within a professional services firm in Spain. 

The work experience will be remunerarated and will need to be covered by a training agreement (convenio de cooperación educativa) with a university or similar institution.

Key Responsibilities    

The role involves the following key duties:

  • Provide support in the implementation of the recruitment strategy for the Madrid office.
  • Assist in law graduate/student recruitment campaigns and selection and assessment activities for the Madrid office for its different practice areas (i.e., specifically for postgraduate Master de Acceso graduates, summer programme undergraduate students and foreign students).
  • Use the firm's global online recruitment tool to progress candidates being recruited directly, carry out application screening and candidate ranking. 
  • Participate in specific operational activities relating to recruitment marketing and branding, including liaison with universities in relation to our attendance at job fairs and the reservation of stands.
  • Provide general support in relation to operations, onboarding, training and development activity and HR projects within the Spanish offices.
  • Maintaining and updating Human Resources databases. 
  • Organising and archiving documentation and information relevant to the HR Department. 

Skills, Qualifications  & Experience

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold a Spanish university degree, ideally in law, psychology or business, and possibly be in the process of undertaking a postgraduate qualification in Human Resources.
  • Be completely fluent in both Spanish and English (a C1 or C2 level is required).
  • Have strong skills in the use of the MS Office suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and be willing to learn how to use HR operational and recruitment applications or platforms.
  • Have excellent self-organisation skills and be capable of working in a responsible and flexible manner, prioritising tasks appropriately.
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused and collaborative approach. 
  • Have the ability to interact successfully with candidates and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders from different parts of the firm.
  • Have a good knowledge of current trends in recruitment marketing tools and the use of social media.
