The role involves the following key responsibilities:

 

 

  • Undertake client-facing PRO activities in support of transactions such as share transfers and share pledges

     

  • Build the necessary relationships at the relevant government organisations to ensure transaction support can be provided in a timely and smooth manner

     

  • Where necessary, providing lawyers and other users with support in relation to specific Arabic language queries

     

  • Liaising with the third party translation services and ensuring the quality of the translations they provide

     

  • Translating legal documents between Arabic and English,

     

  • Editing/amending the Arabic language version of legal and non- legal documents

     

Recording any time spent on chargeable client-related work in the appropriate IT application.

The successful applicant will:

 

  • Have relevant experience in a similar position, preferably in a law firm or in another professional services firm, bank or corporate entity

     

  • Have a native level of written and spoken Arabic and a fluent level of written and spoken English

     

  • Hold a university graduate degree (not in any particular subject, but it might be in Arabic or law)

     

  • Understand and be able to research very technical terms in a variety of fields (e.g., legal, economic, commercial or even in very technical areas)

     

  • Be excellent and building and maintaining both internal and external relationships

     

  • Be an excellent communicator, with a high level of attention to detail, particularly when translating or editing texts

     

  • Be organised, flexible and patient, particularly in the face of changing deadlines

     

  • Be client-focused and with a rigorous approach to dealing with problems and people

     

  • Be collaborative, with an agreeable manner and stimulated by being part of a small team that is part of a large international law firm

     

  • Be open to learning new skills and prepared to drive forward your own personal growth and development

     

  • Be a proficient user of Windows and Microsoft Office applications (notably Microsoft Word).
