Job Purpose

The resource will join the Italian Business Development and Marketing team and will provide support to the Firm by developing the Italian business strategy and priorities aimed at retaining and further developing the client portfolio and expanding the market positioning of the Firm towards the key stakeholders (clients, prospects, legal market, financial community).


Key Responsibilities

The resource, reporting to the Italy Business Development, Marketing & Communications Manager, will be responsible for the following activities:

 

  • Managing BD activities for the Practice Areas of the Firm. Activities may include: Pitching & Proposals (production of pitch documents and/or managing of the administrative aspects of Italian public tenders); Capability Statements; League Tables
  • Acting as BD go-to-person / responsible for the coordination of specific work streams aimed at developing the business priorities of the Firm, in line with the Global and Continental Europe strategy
  • Implementation of strategic analysis to support Practice Areas origination and client relationship progression
  • Monitoring legal market, clients and activities in scope and locating potential opportunities and trends
  • Support in deal reviews in collaboration with the relevant Managers or Partners
  • Management and update of BD databases
  • Legal directories and submissions process
  • Coaching the more junior resources of the Team (if any)

Working closely with the Italy BD & Marketing Manager and the BD Italian team, and collaborate closely with the BD teams of the global network

Able to build trusted advisor relationships with Partners, Managers and Professionals within the Firm.

. Education

University degree.

Desirable: Business Administration university background.

. Experience & Technical Skills

At least 2 years' experience in a similar position in a law firm, preferably international.

Project management skills.

Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), HTML.

. Language Skills

Excellent written and spoken English.

Italian native speaker with very good writing skills.
