Our office in Dubai offers a full service which is completely integrated with, and supported by, our global network. We advise clients on major transactions in the Middle East and beyond. This is an opportunity to join one of the leading Real Estate teams in the region. The work primarily focuses on large development projects and real estate financing in the region, as well as investment deals (both direct and indirect) and transactions in the hospitality sector.

Notable transactions:

  • Advising Aldar Properties on its US$1 billion acquisition of real estate assets from TDIC, one of the largest real estate acquisitions in the history of the UAE
  • Advised ADCB on a AED2.3 billion loan to GR Sowwah Retail Limited for the development of the Al Maryah Central Mall and related leisure facilities on Al Maryah island in Abu Dhabi
  • Advised Sorouh Real Estate Company on its AED46 billion merger with Aldar Properties
  • Advised DIFC Investments on the refinancing of its US$1.25 billion sukuk.
  • Advised the financiers of the SAR12 billion Jabal Omar development in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, which includes 37 hotel and residential towers

Skills & Experience:

  • Solid experience advising on real estate acquisitions and disposals (direct and indirect), landlord and tenant matters, real estate development and asset due diligence.
  • Some real estate finance is useful
  • Have a detailed and strong knowledge of commercial and legal issues affecting the real estate sector.
  • You will have strong legal skills with the ability to provide commercial solutions.
  • Good transactional and management skills.
  • Experience of taking a leading role in advising clients, supervising junior Lawyers/ trainees and completing transactions.
  • You will enjoy working in a busy and supportive team, supervising others and liaising with Lawyers in other practice areas and/or offices in the firm.
  • Strong drafting skills.
  • All candidates should be fluent in English and will have previous experience working in a "Magic Circle" or top tier international law firm.
  • In all cases, candidates should have first class legal ability coupled with a practical commercial approach; excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills; and enjoy being part of a friendly outgoing team. You must also have exceptional results throughout your academic history
