Antitrust lawyers - Spontaneous applications

Graduates & Law Students
JR-2198 Requisition #

Clifford Chance is interested in receiving spontaneous applications from junior lawyers with a passion for antitrust law. We are looking for intelligent, enthusiastic, and articulate associates who are also fun to work with.

We are primarily looking for junior lawyers to join the Brussels antitrust team on a permanent basis in September/October 2021 or March/April 2022. We will also consider applications for alternative start dates and for fixed-term jurist positions.

Who you will work with

The antitrust team in Brussels forms part of Clifford Chance's Global antitrust team. The Brussels antitrust team advises on ground-breaking, high-profile cases across antitrust, merger control, and state aid. We work in small teams, giving team members responsibility and opportunities for client exposure early in their careers.

Lawyers in the Brussels antitrust team work closely with our global network of over 140 antitrust lawyers. Our team covers all the key hubs of Europe, Asia-Pacific and the US, enabling us to support our clients on their most complex and important antitrust matters across the world. We work together to solve multinational antitrust issues, taking into account the interplay between different practices and rules, and always mindful of the practical implications antitrust issues may have on our clients' business.

What you will be responsible for

You will work as part of a team to help our clients navigate the antitrust challenges faced by their business.

Your career experience so far

  • Fluent spoken and written English (native or second language)
  • Law degree from a European or English language university, or U.S. law school
  • Fully qualified to a European bar or a clear, feasible path to qualification while working in a law firm
  • Passion for antitrust law

We are looking for junior lawyers with up to four years of relevant experience.  We will take into account other factors that would contribute to the candidate's ability to successfully work within our team.

How we will support you

From your first day with us, you will have varied opportunities to continuously grow and development your skills and knowledge. From formal training, informal coaching and mentoring through to skills-based and technical training and on the job learning.
